Stacy’s Mom 167

Stacy’s Mom 167, by Fountains of Wayne from the album Welcome Interstate Managers.

Stacy’s mom has got it goin on
You know I’m not the little boy that I used to be
I’m all grown-up now baby can’t you see
Stacy’s mom has got it goin on
She’s all I want, and I’ve waited for so long
Stacy can’t you see, you’re just not the girl for me
I know it might be wrong but I’m in love with Stacy’s mom.

Part of my first art project, 365 Blisspop, where I create a year’s worth [yep, 365] of digital collages, with indie songs as my subject.

Still not sure about the order of my pieces in this web blog, I thought alternating between current pieces and older ones might be a good way to go. We will see. This was an early collage piece, playing with halftones and Photoshop actions, in which I am still an amateur at, but will continue to dabble in.

This band sang bright, zippy, catchy-as-all-heck, bliss pop. This was in the vein of Weezer and Nada Surf. To view some of my personal, favorite bliss pop, click here

Taboo 385

Taboo 385, based on the FX TV series Taboo. It is produced by Tom Hardy and Ridley Scott, and stars Tom Hardy

Taboo, my latest art project EntertainMe, where I create another year’s worth of digital collages, based on indie rock and visual media. See my deviant Art page for background info and stock credits.

So when trailers and then each episode for the FX series, Taboo, blasted onto the big box I was hooked. With the association of Ridley Scott, Scott Free Productions, and this mysterious brit fellow Tom Hardy, I knew I would be a follower. Sordid, dark, dank, ridley-esque, cinematic and forbidden (the title hints to that). This series would include all this in aces, elements that would draw me and other viewers in.

Therefore, I wanted this piece to capture this enigmatic figure. A character with a victorian cloak and tall hat, this was a harder search than expected. I proceeded to create this lush, multicolored background with existing patterns. I then saturated the heck outta the colors. When I found a workable image of the dark man, the piece was almost there. I dropped in the last bit, an old, black ship illustration. I had recently used this on another collage piece. Taboo, a dark, but delightfully different piece for me.
